Lucreccia Quintanilla and Rebecca Ann Hobbs will present an interactive workshop around aspects of collaboration through music. For this session they have each developed playlists around the themes of embodied research, ethical responsibilty, context-responsive frameworks and collaborative and conceptual strategies. Working together since 2002, Hobbs and Quintanilla engage in a series of discursive projects that use food, drink and the dancefloor as platforms for exchange. They are both interested movement practices, particularly dance, and their connection with the politics of living and making work in a settled country. They adopt an approach underpinned by the research question: ‘How can I perform multimedia art works that engage with experience-centered content, in locally specific contexts, in a reciprocal manner?’

Lucreccia Quintanilla is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and sometimes DJ. She is currently finishing her MFA at Monash University, Melobourne. She has presented work in Auckland, Chicago, New York, Berlin, Yogyakarta, Sydney and Melbourne where she is based. Quintanilla has worked as an arts worker at Arts Project Australia, taught at Signal Arts, as well as project managing the publication Mapping South. Rebecca Ann Hobbs is Australian born, from Wulgurukaba country, and currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She works with new media to make video and still images that celebrate dynamic bodies and their relationship to specific sites. Hobbs has participated in exhibitions in Australia, France, Germany, Poland, Sweden and the USA. In 2002 she received the Australian Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship, to undertake tertiary education at the California Institute of the Arts, where she completed an MA in Fine Arts in 2005.
